Recommended Insecticides

Warning: Do not use grubicide or a systemic insecticide with The Fly Killer Kover.

Below is a list of recommended insecticides that can be used with The Fly Killer Kover. Always read and follow insecticide manufacturers recommendations and make sure the insecticide is recommended for backrubber or cattle rub application. We highly recommend using a pre-mixed backrubber insecticide. One that works well is PROZAP Insectrin Pour-On (Synergized) Backrubber Insecticide Xtra. This is a premixed, ready to use, 1.00% permethrin, safe on beef and dairy cattle.

Another permethrin brand is Gordon's Livestock Backrubber and Pour-on. This is a .25% permethrin premix available from Tractor Supply in 2.5 gallon plastic containers.

If you must dilute, use a white mineral oil. Drip oil (irrigation well pump lubricant) works well. We don't recommend using diesel fuel, vegetable oil or water.
